Each month is represented by a gemstone or birthstone. There are different types of birthstones assigned for each month, and are said to have special characteristics and powers to help the individual, born on a particular month, in his or her life.

January Birthstone– Garnet
January birthstone is garnet. Garnet symbolizes passionate devotion, friendship, vitality, and balance. Garnets range in color from deep burgundy to mossy green, though the red hues are the most popular. Rose quartz stones are a lovely pink or coral shade and have a frosted appearance.

February Birthstone– Amethyst
The most popular birthstone for February is amethyst, which is a beautiful deep purple gem that can also be green. Amethyst symbolizes sincerity and security. The stone’s purple tones range from deep, dark violet, to the less coveted pale lavender.

March Birthstone – Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the birthstone of March which stands for loyalty, honesty, and beauty. Aquamarine is a pastel stone that is greenish-blue in color.
